De Puniet buoyed by first Aspar test

Randy de Puniet said an encouraging first test with Aspar, for whom he will compete in MotoGP next year, had left him optimistic ahead of his 2012 campaign. De Puniet had tested for Suzuki this winter, but when the Japanese manufacturer withdrew its works team at the end of this season he announced a deal with Aspar, where he will compete alongside Aleix Espargaro. The team will use Aprilia-powered CRT bikes for 2012, which were rolled out for the first time in a private test at Jerez recently.

FishEyes Rod and Reel Review

The FishEyes Rod and Reel reminds me of the Ronco Pocket Fisherman from days gone by (I was surprised to learn that they are actually still available!). It’s a fishing “pole” with a high tech twist. Attached to the end of the line is a camera that you can use to watch fish in the [...]

Interlagos considers moving pits

Brazilian Grand Prix chiefs are considering a plan to move the Interlagos pits and paddock to the current back straight as part of circuit improvements pencilled in for the next few years. With the track evaluating modifications in the wake of two fatal stock car accidents earlier this year, there is already a scheme in place for revisions to be made to the run-off areas and current pitlane entry for next year. One longer-term proposal being considered for 2013 is the total relocation of the pits and paddock - to allow the circuit to build new garages, team offices, media centre and hospitality areas

SEMA: RAUH-Welt debuts first American-built RWB Porsche

RAUH-Welt RWB Porsche

You might not have heard of RAUH-Welt, a small Japanese tuner that builds custom RWB Porsche models, but the company's popularity has blown up in the past year in part due to the obsessed boys over at Speedhunters.

Previously, RAUH-Welt RWB Porsches have been the sole domain of Japan, but here at this week's SEMA show in Las Vegas, the company has unveiled their two latest cars, both of which were constructed here in the United States. The car pictured here is owned by former 0-60 Magazine editor-in-chief Brian Scotto. The white 911 was built in part to promote Ken Block's new Hoonigan brand (Scotto runs it), so we get the feeling that we'll be seeing more of this car on the interwebs in the near future.
