Shedden leads practice at home

Gordon Shedden dominated the first British Touring Car practice session at Knockhill in Scotland this morning. The local ace sat out the first half of the damp-but-drying session before coming out and going straight to the top of the timesheets.

Despite going off in his Honda Civic early on, Shedden set a 58.111s lap between red flags for Andy Neate (Arena Ford Focus) and James Nash (Triple Eight Vauxhall Vectra) to pip Arena's Tom Chilton by a tenth. The encouraging pace of the NGTC machines continued

Power stays on top in second practice

Will Power went quickest in the IndyCar practice session around the streets of Baltimore. The Australian established himself at the top early on with a 1m22.1384s effort, and aside from a brief intervention by Newman/Haas man James Hinchcliffe, remained the benchmark for the rest of the morning.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur by Linley

Luxury automakers like Bentley have been enjoying increasing success in the Chinese market. But with every factory owner and their cousin clamoring for a new Continental Flying Spur, some will invariably demand something a little more unique. So to satisfy its most demanding clientele, Bentley has teamed up with high-end furniture craftsmen Linley to create a special edition specifically for China.

Only ten examples of the Linley special edition will be offered in the Asian country, each outfitted with such unique features as Santos rosewood veneers around the cabin with intricate marquetry inlay, a specially crafted humidor in the rear console, branded treadplates, rhodium-coated plaque, contrasting piping on the leather upholstery and a leather bag with cashmere blanket.

We won't ask how many yuan the special edition will sell for, because even if we lived halfway around the world, this would still be far out of reach. The closest we'll get, then, is the press release after the jump and the high-resolution images in our gallery.

Power eyes final push

Will Power says winning the 2011 IndyCar title is his only goal as he heads into the final three races just five points behind rival Dario Franchitti. The Penske driver has won the last two races and taken 57 points from Franchitti in the past three, and says his chief aim is to continue that momentum in the season's final stretch - particularly as he expects Motegi and Kentucky to suit him. "To me, second in the championship means nothing," Power stated bluntly.
